A recent Land Court case protected public rights to waterfront property, “ledges and rocks,” in an area known as Andrews Point, Rockport, that is part of the Atlantic Path.
The 16-page decision from Judge Michael Vhay, dated July 9, 2026, found that the public accepted a dedication of land contained in an 1887 deed.
The case first filed in 1995 was tried over eight days, plus a view of the land.
Congratulations to Senior Land Use Counsel Kendra Kinscherf and Assistant Attorney General Joel Quick, both from Attorney General Campbell’s Government Bureau.
