Municipal Proofs: A Comprehensive Seminar on the Burdens of Proof in Different Municipal Cases

Annual Luncheon Meeting & Seminar at the Publick House in Sturbridge

The Association will hold its annual luncheon meeting and seminar in the western part of the state on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Publick House in Sturbrdige. The educational program will be a presentation on “Burdens of Proof in Municipal Hearings and Trials”. Chairs Mark Cerel and Rob Kerwin have put together a “not to miss” program on the nuances and elements of municipal proofs in hearings and trials. Learn the best methods to establish the necessary proofs you need in hearings and trials. Judge Peter Agnes will be the judicial panelist, joining other experienced municipal lawyers in explaining what you need to prove and how to do it to win your case.  We will also be honoring two gentlemen who have advanced the cause of municipal law.   Bill Kelly of the ABCC will receive the  President’s Award for a career contributing to municipal law and Shawn Williams from the Secretary of State’s Office will receive the Robert W. Ritchie Award for making a significant contribution to municipal law during the last year.  Both Bill and Shawn have assisted the membership of the CSTCA innumerable times over the years and we are pleased to honor them.

The “new” CSTCA website will also makes it its first public appearance at this meeting.  Social Law Library staff are expected to provide a live demonstration of the new site for attending members.  Don’t miss it!
